The latest “evidence” that ObamaCare is the big winner most people know it is not, comes from a recently-released Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate, which indicates that it will cost $104 billion less over the next ten years than previously thought, and will enroll 12 million new people in the next year.
At first glance, that would appear to be is very good news for ObamaCare.
Unfortunately for the Obamaniacs and the left-wing crowd (often one and the same), some folks have taken a second look.
One of them is Investors Business Daily. And here, culled from yesterday\’s editorial, is what it found:
Itsays, for example, that ObamaCare will cost $104 billion less overthe next 10 years than it thought just two months ago.
Thatdrop rests almost entirely on the CBO\’s belief that premiums willremain virtually flat next year, which then lowers the insurancesubsidy costs.
Butthe CBO somehow missed the fact that the industry is already warningof double-digit rate increases across the country next year. Rightnow, in fact, it\’s pushing for changes to minimize the rate shock. Asharp spike in premiums will drive ObamaCare\’s costs up far beyondthe CBO\’s current estimate.
Next, the CBO claims 12 million uninsured will gain coverage this yearbecause of the law.
Nevermind that this is a huge downgrade from the CBO\’s original estimate, which had 21 million added to insurance rolls this year. Just to hit12 million, the CBO assumed that at least 83% of those who gotcoverage in the ObamaCare exchanges were previously uninsured.
That\’sdespite a growing pile of evidence to the contrary. The latest RandCorp. survey finds only a third of exchange enrollees lackedcoverage. If Obama\’s 7.5 million enrollment number is true, thatmeans just 2.5 million came from the ranks of the uninsured.
TheCBO likewise assumes that almost all the new Medicaid enrolleespreviously lacked coverage. But Rand\’s survey found that only half ofthe 6 million added to Medicaid lacked insurance before.
CBO\’snumber crunchers need to look up from their computer models to seewhat ObamaCare is doing in the real world.
Sometimes I think the CBO should be renamed the CB Uh-Oh. Because, all too often, if you accept its estimates you are going to be in for a surprise later on – in this case, almost immediately.
ObamaCare is an unworkable monstrosity. It has been that way from square one. And, despite the last two months of Democrat propaganda to the contrary – happily seconded by an all-too-compliant mainstream media – most people know it.
Here are the latest poll data. See for yourself:

Does that in any way suggest ObamaCare is the issue Democrats will want to run on this year? I can assure you that Republicans are hoping so….
