The San Francisco 49er football team has bestowed the Len Eshmont award on its quarterback, colin kaepernick.
In case you are wondering what that is, it is an honor given to the team member who “best exemplifies the inspirational and courageous play of Len Eshmont, an original member of the 1946 49ers team. Eshmont, who scored the first touchdown in 49er history (1946), died of infectious hepatitis in 1957 at the age of 39.
FYI: kaepernick’s play was inspirational and courageous enough to lead San Francisco to a 2 – 14 record this year.
But he did lead the league in innovating the “National Anthem kneel-down”, which apparently was courageous and inspirational enough for his teammates to honor him this way.
How proud they must be.

I spit on them. I hope the 49ers never win another game, ever.
