THE PARAGRAPHS OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Today\’s paragraphs come to us from Michelle Malkin.

Ms. Malkin is is more than a little upset over John Dickerson being the moderator of last night\’s debate – her “upset” level edified by Dickerson\’s  “Candy Crowley” moment – interrupting and arguing with Ted Cruz).

Here, from her commentary about Dickerson, is how Ms. Malkin puts it:

Perhaps most notoriously,Dickerson penned a screed last year advising President Obama to “Go forthe Throat!”; “declare war on the Republican Party;” and”pulverize” his political enemies over gun control, climatechange, and immigration.

Dickerson took offense at conservatives who criticized hisobvious bias. Instead, he condescendingly arguing that he was just offering”analysis.”

And his liberal D.C. media friends backed him up, lookingdown their noses at dumb readers with “little brain activity” whocouldn\’t comprehend how he was merely “deploying an uncustomary literarydevice to deliver information.”

Now, imagine any conservative columnist or right-leaningpolitical analyst calling on Republicans to “destroy” Democrats and”pulverize” Obama, arguing that they really didn\’t mean it because itwas a “literary device;” and then being allowed to moderate aDemocratic presidential debate.

That last paragraph asks a question well worth considering.

Would Democrats ever allow a “moderator” who said anything like that run one of their debates?  Have they?  Of course not.  That is what Republicans are supposed to do, not Democrats.

I award Michelle Malkin Paragraphs Of The Day honors for so clearly reminding us of this double standard.
