Here is the headline CBS News put up for an incident that occurred in Jerusalem today:
“3 Palestinians killed as daily violence grinds on,”
That\’s pretty straightforward, isn\’t it? Those murderous Israelis killed three Palestinians. How can they be so barbarous?
Except it did not in any way reflect what actually happened, And, only because the outcry was immediate and loud, CBS then changed its headline to:
“Israeli police kill 3 alleged Palestinian attackers.”
That\’s pretty straightforward too. Those murderous Israelis killed three Palestinians who might have attacked someone. How can they be so barbarous?
Except that didn\’t tell what happened either.
And finally, CBS – shamed beyond belief (assuming it has any shame) – changed the headline again, this time to read:
“Palestinians kill Israeli officer, wound another before being killed.”
Oh. Palestinians were killed while in the process of killing and wounding Israeli officers.
Finally, after as many people as possible got the exact wrong idea of what occurred, the headline became accurate.
That is how CBS “made history”.
Well, look at the bright side: at least they thrilled a great many Palestinian Arabs, who – again – can point to a headline as “proof” that they are the victims instead of the attackers.
How proud CBS must be.
