The excessive expectation? “13 Hours” will exceed the entire gross of “Truth” (which has been out for the past three months) and “Trumbo” (almost two and a half months) by the end of its first week in release – quite possibly by the end of its first weekend.
As of Friday, “Truth” (released October 16th, three months ago) grossed $2,522,008 and “Trumbo” (released November 6th, almost 2 1/2 months ago) grossed $7,255,503 – a combined gross of $9,777,511.
As of Friday, “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” (released January 15th – its first day in theaters) grossed $5,925,000.
