Ken Berwitz
This is a little silly, I admit. But since silly is what is being presented to us, silly is what I am blogging about.
A few days ago, Public Policy Polling (PPP), a Democrat polling outfit, put out a study to show that Republicans are stupid.
Specifically it asked Republicans whether they would support the bombing of Agribah…..a non-existent country which you can only find in the fictional story-world of “Aladdin”. And 30% of Republicans actually said yes, bomb \’em.
That\’s pretty stupid, right?
Well, there is a Republican polling outfit called WPA Research. In answer to PPP\’s “gotcha” poll, WPA conducted one its own – asking Democrats if they would accept refugees from the same “country” of Agribah. And 44% of the Democrats surveyed said “yes, let\’s take those poor Agribah people in”. Among 18-34 year olds, 66% agreed to do so.
Does that make Democrats significantly stupider than Republicans?
Or do both polls show that if you ask about an important issue in a certain way, you can boom up the response rate.
If I were a Republican, I\’d probably pick the first choice. If I were a Democrat, I\’d probably pick the second.
And if I were a blogger, I\’d laugh at the stupidity shown here regardless of which party it is, and move on. Which I am, and will now do.
The end.
