Today’s quote comes to us from columnist/political commentator Benjamin Weingarten.
It is in the form of an instagram message he posted this morning, titled “A Great and Terrible Info Op*”.
With the above in mind, here is Mr. Weingarten’s quote, in it’s entirety:
“There are roughly 16 million Jews, more than half of whom are scattered across the world, and the other 7-to-8 million of whom are confined to a New Jersey-sized, resource-starved desert of a state surrounded by hundreds of millions of people disproportionately hostile to Jews and the Jewish state.
“Jews do not proselytize, make it difficult to join the religion, and lack any imperative to spread their faith — on which Western conceptions of justice and liberty are based — over the world.
“In contrast, their Islamic supremacist foes, who represent many multiples the number of people disproportionately from energy-rich global powers, believe in spreading their totalitarian worldview over the entire world — including converting by the sword, murdering apostates, and making dissenters third-class, persecuted citizens.
“They use means violent and peaceful, overt and covert, religious, political, and social to advance their cause — including exploiting the very freedoms they would deny in the West to ultimately subvert those freedoms and conquer.
“Their leaders have repeatedly called for and sought to inflict a genocide on the Jewish state, and attacked Jewish peoples and institutions abroad.
“Their nations are actual apartheid states that persecute minorities and which created hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees who fled death and destruction.
“They are actual imperialists and oppressors.
“There is no greater info op than the casting of Jews and the Jewish state as exactly what their Islamic supremacist would-be destroyers are.”
Keeping in mind that what you just read does not attack all Muslims, but specifies only Israel’s “Islamic supremacist foes”…
…I award Ben Weingarten Quote Of The Day honors for making the appropriate conclusion so many others are either too obtuse, and/or too Israel-hating, and/or too Jew-hating, to make themselves.
