THE IRAN THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP IS “NEGOTIATING” WITH

From Greg Beacham’s article in what is left of the once-valuable, once-credible Associated Press:

The coach of Iran’s World Cup team said it was ordered to leave the U.S. and return to its training base in Mexico only a few hours after opening its politically charged tournament by playing to a 2-2 draw with New Zealand on Monday night.

Coach Amir Ghalenoei didn’t say who ordered the Iranians to leave earlier than planned. The team had expected to spend the night in California to maximize the normal recovery process after its opening game, only to be told after the match that everyone must immediately get on a plane for the 140-mile trip back to Tijuana.

“They didn’t even give us time to recover,” Ghalenoei said through an interpreter. “After the game today, they said to us, ‘You have to leave immediately.’ It’s very important for us to have time for recovery, (but) we are asked to get on a plane and return to our camp in Tijuana, and we are really troubled by that.”

Boo hoo.

But why would the United States do such a thing?

In answer, here is what the formerly worthwhile/now thoroughly compromised Associated Press didn’t tell you, from Joseph Chalfont’s article for townhall.com:

According to a new report from the Department of Homeland Security, members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp attempted to smuggle themselves into the United States under the guise of the Iranian World Cup team.

Secretary Markwayne Mullin revealed the Iranian plot on Fox News Sunday morning.

“Most teams travel with around 120 people,” Mullin said. “That’s their support staff, doctors, coaches, everybody else that comes along with them and their delegation. We accepted 53 individuals coming in. The rest of the individuals Iran tried to bring in all also had direct ties to the IRGC and aren’t their normal traveling group.”

“These games that Iran plays unfortunately makes them an adversary that you can’t trust,” Mullin added.

Oh.

And these are the people that President Trump is trying to negotiate with?  The people he would have to trust in order to accept any element of that negotiation?

I can only hope against hope (because it sure doesn’t seem this way) that Trump’s “negotiation” with Iran has been an orchestrated event to prove to the world that Iran cannot be trusted, and Trump will use that proof to justify blowing what is left of Iran’s military infrastructure, missile/drone capability and nuclear hopes to neverland…maybe with the population uprising again and, this time, finally ridding itself of the murderous mullahs who have destroyed their country.

My fingers are crossed on this one.  Yours should be too.
