Let’s be clear here: the one and only reason eric swalwell is not still a congressperson and the frontrunning candidate for Governor of California is that mainstream media – this time – did not look the other way. They actually reported the accusations against him as if they meant something.
Now, let’s discuss what I think is an ironic retrospective.
Suppose that, instead of looking the other way for four years as an incapacitated Joe Biden pretended he was President, these same media reported as seriously about Biden’s incapacitation as they just did about swalwell – causing him to resign the presidency, thus installing Kamala Harris as President….
…and then they covered for her weaknesses the way they did for Biden’s cognitive issues?
With Harris already in place, and media running interference for her as an incumbent the way they did for Biden, would the results of the 2024 election been different? It certainly would have improved Harris’s prospects. Maybe decisively.
Now THAT’S irony! It would mean the same pro-Democrat media bias that protected cognitively challenged Joe Biden was what elected the hated Donald Trump President!
Is this true? Would Kamala Harris be President if the media were as forthcoming about Biden as they have been about Swalwell? We’ll never know for sure.
But it’s something I hope a lot of people in the “news” business think long and hard about. Maybe lose some sleep over.
