You better be sitting down for this one.
From Dalit Halevi’s article at israelnationalnews.com:
Lawsuit demands Israel pay USD 9b in compensation
Arab labor union to sue Israel on behalf of Palestinian Authority workers who lost their jobs following the October 7 massacre.
The Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, with the support of international labor unions, intends to sue Israel for compensation on behalf of Palestinian Authority Arab workers who lost their jobs in Israel since October 7, 2023, when Hamas and civilian Arabs infiltrated Israel en mass and brutally tortured, massacred, and dismembered Israeli men, women, children, and infants.
The petition to the International Labour Organization (ILO) focuses on the right to wages and the protection of workers’ social rights in accordance with binding international conventions and agreements.
Shaher Saad, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Workers Union, told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the situation of workers who lost their jobs in Israel is particularly dire, as the Palestinian Authority is unable to provide them with an economic safety net and is even struggling to pay its employees’ salaries.
They’re kidding, right?
No. Wrong. They’re not kidding. This is Israel and these are Jews. So basic logic, even sanity, does not apply.
Let’s think about this.
On October 7, 2023 Palestinian Arabs from hamas-controlled Gaza invaded Israel. They massacred 1,200-1,400 people – mostly civilians at a dance festival – and took over 250 hostages, many of whom died in captivity.
-Did the Palestinian Authority condemn this action? No.
-Does the Palestinian Authority have a “unity agreement” with hamas – which means that unless it specifically speaks out against hamas policy it is on board with it? Yes.
-Does the Palestinian Authority pay compensation to the families of citizens who died killing Israelis? Yes.
Based on the above, can anyone in his/her right mind believe that post-October 7 Israel would willingly allow thousands of Palestinian Arabs into Israel every day from either Gaza OR Palesinian Authority-controlled Judea and Samaria (the west bank)? Obviously the answer is no.
But now Israel is supposed to compensate Palestinian Arabs for, literally, protecting its people – both Jewish and non-Jewish (about 20% of Israeli citizens are Arabs)????
If we were talking about any country other than Israel this would have been laughed out of every relevant labor organization.
But we are talking about Israel. Jewish-majority Israel. So all bets are off.
Am I surprised? No, I am not. After 58 centuries of this kind of anti-Jewish sickness, why should I be? Why should anyone be?
It never ends.
