THE TRUMP ECONOMIC DISASTER WATCH: LATEST DATA

The Trump economic disaster is almost a year old now.

It must be a disaster.  Isn’t that what all those experts, those folks who are never wrong, were telling us?

Except…

…these just released data, pulled from Randy DeSoto’s article at westernjournal.com, don’t look that disastrous to me:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta estimated that the Gross Domestic Product grew at 5.4 percent during the fourth quarter of last year.

That’s up from 4.3 percent during the third quarter, and is a full 3 percentage points higher than former President Joe Biden’s last quarter in office in 2024, when it was 2.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the nation’s trade deficit fell to $29 billion in October, down from $136 billion in March before President Donald Trump instituted his reciprocal trade policy.

CNBC’s Rick Santelli reported Thursday, “We were expecting a number around $58 billion [in October]. Buckle up, this is unreal, the movement in this number: Minus $29.4 billion. We cut it basically in half.”

Does that look disastrous to you?

Maybe if you’re a Democrat strategist hoping to base your campaign on Trump’s failed economic policy, the answer is yes.  But, other than  that, I doubt it.

Oh, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a new all-time high last week, while inflation sat at 2.7% – below the 3.0% Trump inherited.  Didn’t these “experts” also tell us the market would tank and inflation would soar?

Y’know, maybe they’re not such experts after all.  And when it comes to economic policy, maybe Trump knows what he’s doing.

Just a thought….
