Is Vance Boelter, the man accused of shooting Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, then killing Democrat Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, a Trump Supporter? A MAGA fan?
That is what we are being told by a lot of media today.
The evidence for these claims that I have seen so far are the verbal claims of his roommate Daniel Carlson – a guy Boelter lived with instead of his wife – and a claim that he had a list of 70 other targets which, according to CNN, were “largely Democrat” (but CNN did not provide the full list).
Does this claim hold any water?
Well, Rep. Hortman had, just days before, been the one and only Democrat voting to repeal taxpayer-funded healthcare coverage for adult illegal immigrants – which Donald Trump would have thanked her for. It’s hard to imagine a pro-Trump person would kill a Democrat breaking ranks to vote for pro-Trump legislation.
And Boelter’s car had a bunch of “No Kings” flyers in it; “No Kings” being the name of the anti-Trump rallies held around the country this weekend. It’s hard to imagine a pro Trum[ guy with those flyers in his possession.
But Daniel Carson – who was a roommate, thus presumably a pal, maybe a confidante of Boelter and maybe someone who would cover for him – says so. And we do have that list that CNN talked about and made claims about, but didn’t show us.
Does this convince you that Vance Boelter was a Trump/Maga fan?
It sure as you-know-what doesn’t convince me.
Let me put it this way: if our media – the same media that told me Trump called nazis “very fine people”, he colluded with Russia, and that Joe Biden was cognitively just fine for four years – don’t come up with more, and I mean a LOT more, you’ll pardon me if I remain skeptical.
