Here\’s a new idea – maybe the start of an irregularly-posted series. I call it a “guest paragraph”: that is, a single paragraph which sums things up very well.
The first (and possibly last – I\’m not sure about this) guest paragraph comes to us from the latest commentary written by syndicated columnist Mona Charen:
Votersare souring on the Democratic Party. Apparently, all it takes are sixyears of economic torpor; the disastrous debut of the biggest newfederal program in two generations; record levels of federal debt;revelations of scandals and malfeasance at the Department of VeteransAffairs, the Internal Revenue Service, the Secret Service and theJustice Department; Russian revanchism on the march; a rampaging armyof (literal) cutthroats gobbling up territory in the Middle East; andthe feeble and patronizing government response to a modern plague.
Way to go, Mona. That sums it up beautifully.
And I also congratulate Ms. Charen on the rest of her column, which talks about equal pay for women and gives us plenty to think about.
