A MESSAGE TO RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN

First, the following excerpt, from today\’s article about the battle for Kobani, at foxnews.com.  Please pay special attention to the last paragraph, which I have put in bold print:

TheU.S. military said late Sunday that it had dropped weapons, ammunition, and medical supplies to Kurdish forces battling to holdthe Syrian border town of Kobani against Islamic State militants.

Theairdrops were the first of their kind and followed weeks of U.S. andcoalition airstrikes in and near Kobani. Earlier Sunday, U.S. CentralCommand (CentCom) said that it had launched 11 airstrikes overnightin the area.

FoxNews is told by Kurdish officials in the area that they have receivedthe supplies, dropped in open land held by Kurdish fighters.

Oneofficial said that while the results of the mission are still beingassessed, it appeared that “the vast majority” of thesupplies reached the intended Kurdish fighters.

Theairdrops are almost certain to anger the Turkish government, whichhas said it would oppose any U.S. arms transfers to the Kurdishrebels in Syria. Turkey views the main Kurdish group in Syria as anextension of the Turkish Kurd group known as the PKK, which has wageda 30-year insurgency in Turkey and is designated a terror group bythe U.S. and by NATO.

The Turkish government, headed by Kurd-hating Islamist recep tayyip erdogan, has troops stationed right across the border, so close they can sit on their butts and watch the bombing.  And that is exactly what they are doing:  sitting on their butts.  Because erdogan would rather see an entire town massacred by ISIS than help innocent Kurd civilians.

But he has a problem with the group that is helping instead?  He has a problem with anyone at all defending the people of Kobani?

Here is my message to recep tayyip erdogan.

Go to hell.

UPDATE:  In case you think ISIS is on the ropes in Kobani, we have this from Brian Walker of CNN:

ISISmilitants launched about 15 near-simultaneous attacks on Kurdishforces in northern Iraq on Monday in what Kurdish governmentofficials and the Kurdish news agency Rudaw said was a fierce andrenewed push for Kurdish-held territory.

Thedeadliest of the attacks targeted Mosul Dam, a hugely importantlocation.

This is not – repeat, not – over.  Kobani needs help.  On the ground.  Or that massacre will surely take place.  And Turkey, under erdogan, is no friend and will not lift a finger.

Nothing important; just the lives of thousands and thousands of innocent people.
