Today’s quote comes to us from an ongoingly rich sources of material: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Here, spoken during a town hall meeting last Thursday, is Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s view of the “right” of everyone to have housing:
“We have to make sure that housing is being legislated as a human right.
“What does that mean? What it means is that our access and our ability and our guarantee to having a home comes before someone else’s privilege to earn a profit.”
There you go. Everyone gets housing. And that inalienable right comes before the “privilege” of actually earning enough money to pay for it.
Tell us, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez: how many rooms should we all be entitled to? How many bedrooms? Is air conditioning also a right?
Do we have to settle for GE appliances or is it mandated that we all get Sub Zero?
If our next door neighbor likes to deal drugs< or play loud music all night, or is violent, maybe mentally disturbed, do we have a right to say anything about it. Will we be tossed out for complaining?
I award Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Quote Of The Day “honors” for proving, again (and again and again) that being a bartender, honorable profession though it may be, is no training ground for a career in legislative politics…
…although some people who become aware of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s comments about housing and profits, might want to avail themselves of her mixological talents and down a few stiff drinks.

How can she have a degree in economics from Boston U??? According to wiki she graduated cum laude
That’s quite a statement about Boston U.
