Until today I had never heard of Allen Bergstein.
But I just read a piece by Mr. Bergstein which discusses an issue very important to me – Jews who claim to support Israel but can find rationales for either “justifying” or just looking the other way at every anti-Israel, even anti-Semitic action by today’s increasingly left wing-dominated Democrat Party.
Regular readers know I refer to Jews, and non-Jews who fit that description as “The Lost Tribe” – i.e. people who, for reasons that make no sense to me, give undying, unwavering fealty to a political party that, recognizing it owns them, has no problem crapping on them.
Hey, why not? If you can pander to the Israel-hating, Jew-hating crowd without losing almost any Jewish support, go for it. There’s no down side.
In any event, Allen Bergstein has addressed this issue in his latest commentary for americanthinker.com. And, while I can live without some of the generalizations Mr. Bergstein uses, I have to say he makes a number of strongly-felt points that are very worth reading.
You’ve got the link above, and I hope you use it. But, for the meanwhile, here are its first two paragraphs:
Jews are a hard people to figure out. They are, undoubtedly, the brightest minority on the face of the earth. There is no profession in which they are not held in the highest esteem. They excel in the arts, science, medicine, law and finance. But right here in America they’ve shown their political intelligence to be an oxymoron. In this area they are just plain stupid. Their support for Democratic candidates who are outright Jew haters is inexplicable. They show no common sense nor any desire to build up whatever portion of the brain functions as a road map to survival.
Barely 75 years after the end of the Holocaust, in which nearly one half of the world’s Jewry was slaughtered, Jews appear to have no interest in finding ways to prevent such a cataclysm from reoccurring. They may hold hands during the sad memorials such as Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), listen to stories repeatedly told by aging survivors, shed tears and pray for those who perished at the hands of the Jew haters but appear to be absolutely blind to the fact that Holocaust II is flaming up before their very eyes and they themselves are throwing kindling on the emerging fires.
Let me, again, say that I can live without the generalizations Mr. Bergstein makes. But, speaking as a Jew who personally knows people who fit those generalizations, I can’t deny he makes strong, valid – and unsettling – points, which raise questions such as these:
-When do the Jews who fit this category wake up?
-When do they realize that the Democrat Party, increasingly, is the party of the Israel hater and the Jew-hater?
-Why do they think anti-Semites like ilhan omar and rashida tlaib run Democrat?
-Why do they think the Democrat Party welcomes haters like omar and tlaib, and gives them key committee assignments?
-When do they notice that the “students for justice in palestine” movement on college campuses around the country – which, in reality, is the “students for the elimination of Israel” movement – is entirely a product of the same left wing fringe that is taking over the Democrat Party?
-When do they read the polls which show what a major disparity there is in support for Israel by party (the latest, a Gallup poll released in March, shows 76% of Republicans support Israel compared to just 43% of Democrats)?
Or, more simply put, why do they continue to be ask-no-questions/don’t-think-twice-about-it slaves to the Democrat Party?
I have no answers to those questions. How I wish I did.

-When do the Jews who fit this category wake up?
-When do they realize that the Democrat Party, increasingly, is the party of the Israel hater and the Jew-hater?
These two have the same answer, when we have a media that reports honestly.
