Two sure signs that Russia is about to invade The Ukraine:
1) In addition to the 20,000 Russian troops in Crimea, tens of thousands more have massed at the Ukrainian border
2) vladimir putin says he isn\’t going to do so.
Now: who is going to stop him? Barack Obama? You\’re kidding, right?
The European Union? Not without a strong USA in the lead role…which brings us back to the previous sentence.
After that? Who knows? putin has no has no personal limits, no restraints whatsoever. It will take someone or something else to rein him in.
What a great time this would be for us – and the rest of the world – for the USA to have a competent President.
I wrote those words on March 21. My only mistake was thinking it would happen sooner. But the invasion itself was inevitable.
Now it is in the process of happening — and the Obama administration has had the luxury of five additional months to try and prevent it (that didn\’t happen), and to figure out what to do about it if the invasion occurs.
Have they?
Let me reiterate what I said then: What a great time this would be for us – and the rest of the world – for the USA to have a competent President.
Too bad for us – and The Ukraine and the rest of the free world – that we don\’t.
