Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). And if you’re into fearmongering as a political strategy, you’re going to love it.
This is Mr. Schiff’s comment to fellow Democrat George Stephanopoulos, host of ABC News’ This Week show, regarding whether the FISA memo discredits Independent Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of President Trump and the people around him:
“Well, I don’t think it’s working in the sense that people have a lot of confidence in Bob Mueller.”
“But it is impeaching the FBI, and the problem with this, and this is I think at the heart of the department’s concern–is if you have a neighbor who’s buying fertilizer, lots of fertilizer, but has no yard and you have concerns about it and you want to call the FBI, you’re now going to wonder ‘Is that FBI going to hold my name in confidence or this information in confidence, what if this becomes politicized?’ Sources are going to dry up because of what the Republicans on this committee are doing now.”
“There’s a compact between our committee and the intelligence community. You give us your deepest held secrets, we will hold them in good confidence, we won’t abuse them, they’re going to share a lot less with us now and other sources of information are going to decide not to share with the FBI because they can’t rely on our committee not to be partisan in the handling of that information, and that’s a deep disservice which ultimately makes the country less safe.”
In other words, if there is evidence that the FBI (and the Department of Justice as well) acted improperly, don’t say anything about it because that would endanger the country. There might be another Oklahoma City bombing, or 9/11, or something. Better to look the other way regarding allegations that the FBI and DOJ have operated as rogue enterprises, putting politics over the safety and well-being of the country.
And isn’t this the same Adam Schiff that was warning us that release of the FISA memo would endanger our security, suggesting there was classified information within it….which there was not?
What a pathetic putz.
Adam Schiff is part of Democrats’ worst nightmare: a left wing Democrat from an eminently safe seat without fear of losing any election.
In that capacity, he is liberated to spout this kind of stupid, obnoxious, hackneyed partisan crap at will, secure in the knowledge that there will be no personal price to pay for it.
But Democrats in competitive races are the ones who pay that price – as seen by the remarkable decline in Democrat fortunes over the past decade, as the Schiffs, and Waters’, and Pelosis, etc. etc. etc. have become its dominant force.
The day President Obama took office, Democrats held 60% majorities in both houses of congress, almost 60% of the governorships and most statehouses. Now it is the minority party in every one of those areas. That takes some doing. And it is exactly the kind of bilge pumped out by Schiff and Co. which has facilitated it.
Adam Schifff, therefore, wins Quote Of The Day “honors”, for another in his ongoing series of moronic, partisan comments which accomplish nothing positive, but continue to sink the Democrat Party.

MR. Schifff in other words “If the Democrat Party, the FBI, the DOJ and the MSM conspire to fix a Presidential election and get caught, no one should report on it and no information should be released to the public”.
