BILL BUCKNER AND CHARLIE ROSE

Bill Buckner was an excellent major league baseball player with a 22 year career spanning four decades (1969-1990).  But, sad to say, he is most remembered for his fateful error in the 6th game of the 1986 world series, which allowed the New York Mets to score the winning run and then go on to beat Boston in the 7th game to become world series champions.

Charlie Rose has been a fixture on national TV for 45 years, with a highly impressive list of credits including long-running stints at PBS and co-hosting CBS This Morning.  But he will be most remembered for a series of overt, repulsive sexual behaviors (which he admits to) that caused him to be summarily fired by both PBS and CBS today.

Bill Buckner, from all accounts, is a very good man who deserves a much better legacy.

Evidently Charlie Rose is not a very good man at all, and deserves exactly the legacy he has created for himself.

Good riddance to him.
