CALLING OUT AN INGRATE IS RACIST?

As you may be aware, three UCLA basketball players were caught shoplifting while in China.  They were arrested and would have been on their way to jail, had not President Trump interceded and secured their release.  All three admitted what they did and thanked the President.

However, the father of one admitted shoplifter decided it would be a great time to insult President Trump – with the predictable result that Trump hit right back at him (which is ridiculous:  I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve noted that, however justified by events, this kind of tit for tat is childish and unworthy of a president).

But how did Joe Scarborough and co-host/fiance Mika Brzezinski report this sequence of events on today’s Morningn Joe” show?

Here’s your answer:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: When asked about Trump’s involvement last Friday by ESPN, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo Ball, responded: “Who? What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”

President Trump responded on Sunday, quote: “Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!”

This is our president of the United States of America. Trump followed that up hours later tweeting: “Shoplifting is a very big deal in China, as it should be (5-10 years in jail), but not to father LaVar. Should have gotten his son out during my next trip to China instead. China told them why they were being released. Very ungrateful!”

JOE SCARBOROUGH: It is, there’s racist overtures here, where the black man was not appreciative of what the white man did for him. And it’s a dog whistle, to say the least.

Racist overtures?  Racist overtures?

Was President Trump a racist when he got Liangelo Ball and his two teammates out of the mess they admitted getting themselves into?

Were the three UCLA players Uncle Toms for apologizing and thanking him?

This is exactly the kind of crap that gives “journalism” a bad name.  But “coverage” of this, er quality, seems to be everyday fare on “Morning Joe”.

Then they wonder why Trump uses tweeting to circumvent them?  They’re kidding, right?

  • They have to make a big deal out of this, if they didn’t they might be forced to report on the real news that was made during the China visit.

No One is Talking About Trump’s Game-Changing Deal
In a piece titled “Why no one is talking about Trump’s game-changing deal,”, the New York Post’s Salena Zito notes the mainstream media’s near comical aversion to honestly reporting on the U.S.’s agreement with China about a “$83.7 billion “memorandum of understanding, to create a number of petrochemical projects in West Virginia over the next 20 years.”
