Here is the first paragraph of the lead editorial in today’s New York Times:
The United States has seen worse than Donald Trump. It has endured political crises and corruption, war abroad and bloodshed at home. But that doesn’t make it any easier to contemplate the catastrophe that looms if we wake up Wednesday morning to President-elect Trump.
Uh….note to the New York Times: we will not wake up Wednesday morning to a President-elect. We will wake up Wednesday morning (assuming there is a clear winner) to a President-designate.
There is no President-elect until the Electoral College meets and gives one of the candidates a majority of its votes.
In other words, the New York Times editorial board got this wrong…as it has consistently got things wrong throughout the entire campaign.
Way to go, guys.
Oh, one other thing: after getting this wrong, the rest of the editorial is an unrelenting hit job on Donald Trump and his supporters, without a bad word to say about the lying, corrupt Hillary Clinton.
Please do not tell me you are surprised.
