CHICAGO’S GUN CONTROL “SUCCESS”

Chicago has what arguably are the strictest gun control laws of any city in the United States.

So, since gun control is what makes us safe, Chicago must be one helluva safe city, right?

Before answering, I suggest you read the following excerpts from Dan Hinkel’s article in today’s Chicago Tribune:

Chicago’s per capita homicide rate climbed over the last decade, and the chances of an African-American being killed in the city spiked drastically, according to a new report.

From 2005 to 2015, the city went from 17.3 homicides per 100,000 residents to a rate of about 18.8, according to a report from the Injury Prevention and Research Center at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

The vast majority of homicides across all demographic groups were committed with guns; nearly 90 percent of the homicides in 2015 involved firearms, the study found. The study found that homicide rates for white people have decreased in the past decade, from 4.4 homicides per 100,000 in 2005 to 2.7 in 2015. For Latinos, the number went from 10.5 per 100,000 in 2005 to 11.3 last year.

Men and boys reliably account for nearly all of the city’s homicides; the rate for males in 2015 was about 35.2 per 100,000, the report found. For females, the rate was 3.5 per 100,000.

So what do we have here?  Chicago, with its vaunted gun control, is seeing a significant increase in gun crime…with a huge increase among Black males – probably most of it gang-related.

If you ask Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel why this is happening, he will join just about every other visible Democrat by demanding still stricter laws, and assailing the NRA.

But how many gang members do you figure follow gun control laws to get their weapons?  And how many do you figure belong to the NRA?

You know what would be great?  If these full-of-crap politicians would stop using gun laws and the NRA to divert attention away from the real causes of gun violence in Chicago: Black gangs that shoot each other, along with innocent people – almost all of them Black as well.

But to do that would require leaving themselves open to charges of racism (as if it is racist simply to voice the facts about the vast majority of gun violence).  So, instead, they jerk their constituents around with diversionary attacks on  other entities, in the hope that it will shut them up.

“Hey, who cares how many Black people are shot?  How many die?  As long as we can bamboozle the voters into getting angry at the straw men we create, we don’t have to deal with any of that.  So let ’em get shot and die.  Then we can all have a big laugh when they buy into our BS and scream about gun control and the NRA.”

If these frauds gave a DAMN about the innocent Black people of Chicago – which is to say a huge majority of Black Chicagoans – they would never pull this garbage.

But they don’t, so they do.  And the carnage grows.
