Do you remember Freddy Gray?
Gray was the career miscreant who was arrested by Baltimore police, put in a van to the police station, suffered major spinal trauma while being transported, and died a week later.
Do you also remember that six Baltimore police officers were charged with a variety of offenses, including murder, because of this incident?
And that it spurred a rioting/burning/looting spree in downtown Baltimore, while Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake “gave those who wished to destroy space to do that” (HER words, not mine)?
Well, all it took was one mistrial, then three outright acquittals of police officers who were charged with the most significant crimes…
…but the Freddy Gray nightmare has now come to an end. The officer whose case ended in mistrial will not be re-tried, and charges against the remaining two officers have been dropped.
You can read all about it here. – including the pathetic State Attorney Marilyn Mosby, who brought the charges, whining that the deck was stacked against her (a Black, Democrat State Attorney in a Black, Democrat-run city? Yeah, right).
And what great timing! The charges were dropped only two days after Mayor Rawlings-Blake opened the Democrats’ National Convention….thus the crowd had no opportunity to boo her off the stage for not continuing to go after the six officers.
Now I have two questions for Mayor Rawlings-Blake, and for State Attorney Mosby, who brought such enormously inflated charges against the officers that it was nearly impossible for them to be convicted.
-Who do the officers see about the cost of this inquisition? The stress, the anxiety, the effect on their families (which I assure you will extend way beyond today) and the lawyers’ fees all six have endured – especially the four who have already been on trial?
-And when do you explain why the family of Freddy Gray – a career low-life criminal – was handed a $6.4 MILLION DOLLAR SETTLEMENT, before even one of the trials took place? If no one is guilty of anything, why did you hand out even $6.4 CENTS to his family?
This was a ridiculous case from the outset. There never was any proof even one of the officers did a thing that was actionable in a court of law. And since half the officers were Black, half White, there never was even the slightest reason to see this case as a racial incident.
But Mayor Rawlings-Blake and State Prosecutor Mosby didn’t care about that. There they were, with the #blacklivesmatter racists, going along for the ride. And Baltimore exploded because of it.
Now they are shown up for the incompetent fools they were.
-Rawlings-Blake has declined to run for re-election and her political career is most likely over.
-Mosby’s performance was so objectionable that charges are now pending against her, that she will have to answer to in a trial.
Good.
Well, look at the bright side. Freddy Gray’s family will probably spend most of the $6.4 million right in Baltimore, so at least the taxpayers will get back a few pennies……

Will the six police officers have to face departmental hearings?
How does the record of charges affect their careers ?
What support did these six officers receive from senior police officials?
