Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), who unsuccessfully tried to move up to the U.S. Senate but her primary opponent, Attorney General, was endorsed by President Obama.
Why did he give Ms. Harris the endorsement? Here’s Ms. Sanchez’s explanation (after pointing out that Mr. Obama and Ms. Harris are long-time friends):
“She is African American. He is too”
Rep. Sanchez very quickly tried to walk her comment back, assuring one and all that she really only meant they were friends, and race had nothing to do with it.
Read that quote again. Do you believe her?
Me neither.
I award Loretta Sanchez Quote Of The Day honors for demonstrating what common sense should already have told us: that race is not a one party issue – it is every bit as likely to come from a Democrat as it is to come from a Republican.
I think it is more likely to come from a Democrat. Especially when they think no one else will here or read. The email releases about Latino voters released today is a good example.
But you know what, because of how Liberal Sanchez is, can you think of another reason why he supported Ms. Harris??? Maybe Sanchez should have had more guts and call it like she sees it and stand by what she believes. What am I thinking???? She is a politician, a politician doesn’t have that kind of guts. As a Californian knowing Sanchez’ career since the beginning, I have never liked her.
