So how did all that media spin, trying to convince voters that Hillary Clinton was cleared of wrongdoing in the email scandal, work out?
Yesterday I blogged about two new polls, taken after the hearing, both of which showed Donald Trump jumping up, maybe even a little ahead of Ms. Clinton
And now we have this, excerpted from Amy Chozick and Dalia Sussman’s article in today’s New York Times:
Hillary Clinton has emerged from the F.B.I. investigation into her email practices as secretary of state a wounded candidate with a large and growing majority of voters saying she cannot be trusted, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
As Mrs. Clinton prepares to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination at the convention in Philadelphia this month, she will confront an electorate in which 67 percent of voters say she is not honest and trustworthy. That number is up five percentage points from a CBS News poll conducted last month, before the F.B.I. released its findings.
Mrs. Clinton’s six-percentage-point lead over the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump, in a CBS News poll last month has evaporated. The two candidates are now tied in a general election matchup, the new poll indicates, with each receiving the support of 40 percent of voters.
Does that make voter reaction clear enough? I thought so.
Oh, one other thing: this article, which I found online – is NOT in my copy of today’s New York Times.
Maybe tomorrow………
==============================
UPDATE: No, this is not a correction about the New York Times article being in today’s paper as well as online. It isn’t.
I am updating to note that Rasmussen – just released its weekly poll.
Last week Rasmussen had Trump ahead of Clinton by 42% – 40%. This week, which reflects voters sentiment after the hearings, it has Trump ahead 44% – 37%.
Now we have four different polls showing exactly the same thing: that, after the hearings there has been a Trump jump.
Nice try, media. But this time it didn’t work.

Also take into consideration, if these polls are using the same inflated numbers of Democrats in the sample, then it is even worse for her. Last I saw they were inflating the D’s by 6%.
