THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from the plain-speaking, blunt-speaking former District Atttorney, now congressperson, Trey Gowdy (R-SC).

Mr. Gowdy was asked what he learned from Loretta Lynch when she appeared before the House Oversight Committee yesterday to explain, among other things, why there would be no charges against Hillary Clinton .

His answer:

“Nothing. It was a total waste of time and a total disservice to my fellow citizens.”

“Prosecutors have  a lot of power in our justice system.  And it’s not asking too much to ask prosecutors to explain their charging decisions or their decision not to charge. She could have answered every one of those questions. She just chose not to. There’s no legal prohibition. There’s no grand jury prohibition, there’s no rule that doesn’t allow her to answer the questions. She just chose not to.

“What we asked her to do was apply the facts to the law. And it’s not that complicated. You take the facts as Director Comey gave them to us and as he found and you apply the law which is public and everybody knows what it is. But the facts are embarrassing for her presidential candidate.

“So discussing the facts necessarily leads to more questions like if you have all those good facts, why didn’t you indict.  She doesn’t do well in that conversation.”

That plain enough for you?  Blunt enough?

Loretta Lynch is a joke.  She is a compromised sock-puppet, apparently in Hillary Clinton’s hip pocket every bit as much as Barack Obama’s.

After her beyond-disgraceful meeting with Bill Clinton, and the revelation that Hillary Clinton may have dangled a continuing gig as AG in her administration as an incentive, whatever credibility she may have brought to the Attorney General position is gone now.

Trey Gowdy wins Quote Of The Day honors for making that plain, and not mincing words in doing so.

  • I thought it was more plausible clinton offered her a Supreme Court appointment not continuing as AG. But I haven’t seen anyone write about that possibility. The first black woman Supreme Court judge would be a historic event for clinton the first woman elected POTUS.
