From a CBS News report on Alton Sterling, the man who was shot and killed by Baton Rouge Police, we have this:
STERLING’S CRIMINAL RECORD
Sterling pleaded guilty in 2011 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally carrying a weapon. A judge in Baton Rouge sentenced him to five years in prison, giving him credit for time served.
Court records show Sterling also was arrested in May 2009 after an officer confronted him outside a store where he was selling CDs. It was a different store than the one where he was killed.
That’s it. That’s the exent of it. Illegal possession of a firearm and selling CDs. Nothing prior to 2009.
Thank you CBS News for that trip to Fantasyland. Now let’s rejoin the real world.
From Jessica McBride’s article at heavy.com:
A review of court records by Heavy shows that Sterling was well known to Baton Rouge police, although the two officers involved in the shooting — Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake II — and are not mentioned in documents pertaining to Sterling.
Records show that Sterling was registered sex offender with a lengthy criminal record that included convictions for weapons offenses, confrontations with police officers, property crimes, and domestic violence and other batteries.
Sex with a minor (which netted him a 2 1/2 year prison term), domestic battery, etc. etc. etc. Please use the link I’ve provided and read the entire article, to see that Sterling’s record is fully referenced.
So: did you notice any of what you just read in the CBS whitewash report? Use the link I’ve provided for that article, then try and find one word about any of it.
Why don’t I trust mainstream media? There are many reasons. Chalk this up as one of them
