O, Canada……
This latest installment of the Real Racism series comes to us from north of the border. I’ll let these excerpts from Andrew Stiles’ article at heatst.com give you the particulars:
An indigenous woman in Calgary, Canada who yelled “I hate white people” before punching a white woman in the face and knocking her tooth out did not commit a racially motivate hate crime, a provincial court judge has ruled.
The judge disagreed with the prosecutor’s argument that the unprovoked assault, which occurred in November 2015, rose to the level of a hate crime.
“There is no evidence either way about what the offender meant or whether … she holds or promotes an ideology which would explain why this assault was aimed at this victim,” the judge said. “I am not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that this offence was, even in part, motivated by racial bias.”
An “indigenous” (that’s politalcorrectnessspeak for Native American – itself politically correct) screams “I hate White people”, then hauls off and punches a White woman in the mouth…and this is not a hate crime?
Fascinating. I’ll just bet this same judge would come to the identical ruling if it were the White woman screaming “I hate indigenous people” and then doing the punching. (Feel free to wipe the sarcasm off your screen).
I am not going to explain why this is real racism at its finest. Because if you don’t know already, no explanation I can provide is going to help you.
Real racism: it comes in all forms from all sources. No group is immune to it or from it. Certainly not a hate-filled “indigenous person”, and a judge with the intelligence of a half-eaten acorn.
