For just a moment, forget Joe Biden’s political positions – or, at any rate, the ones he is told to have at this particularly moment. Think about his mental condition.
Joe Biden is doddering. Confused. Has difficulty making sense even with the help of a teleprompter. Just yesterday he confused Iraq and Iran – and referred to a “Harris-Biden administration”, not the other way around.
Mr. Biden is so far from mentally competent to be President that the thought of him in the Oval Office is actually scary.
Now let’s concentrate on one of those gaffes, because it is immensely important: the reference to a “Harris-Biden administration”. If Joe Biden were to win the election and become President, then not be able to continue in that position, Kamala Harris would be President of the United States.
For people who care only about identity politics and nothing else, this would be a dream come true. “Look, we have a Black woman as President. It’s about time!!”
But for those who actually worry about the person – not the color or the gender but the person – who would be President; who could issue executive orders; who would be commander in chief of our armed forces? It would be an imperative to know who Kamala Harris is, how she gotten to where she is, what her political positions are and how well or poorly the coincide with what those positions used to be when she was running for other offices.
Tell me: what do you actually know about Kamala Harris, the person who would be President if a doddering, confused, mentally diminished President could not finish his term of office.
Not much, I’ll bet.
Which leads to the question of why our media are not telling us about her. About her background, her start in politics, what positions she took then and whether they are the same or different from the positions she takes now, how capably or incapably she performed, etc.
Why is this information being withheld?
And, more to the point, if it were a terrific, positive story, wouldn’t our media – which, for the most part, is clearly rooting for the Biden-Harris ticket to prevail – be telling us about it? What, if anything, is it that they don’t want us to know?
In the following days I’m going to try to put together pieces of the Kamala Harris story as best I can.
Wish me luck.
