Jacob Frey is the left wing ideologue who Minneapolis voters were, er, smart enough to elect Mayor.
And here, excerpted from Ryan Saavedra’s article at dailywire.com, is how he has handled the riots which, as I write this, are ravaging the city he is in charge of.
People rioting in Minneapolis on Thursday night over the death of George Floyd completely destroyed the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Police Precinct and other businesses before the National Guard arrived on the scene in an attempt to stabilize the situation.
Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey told reporters that he made the decision “to evacuate the Third Precinct” after receiving information about the severity of the riots.
“I made the decision to evacuate the Third Precinct,” Frey said. “The symbolism of a building cannot outweigh the importance of life, of our officers or the public. Brick and mortar is not as important as life.”
The Saint Paul Police Department, which is located in the Minneapolis metropolitan area, tweeted that there had been “more than 170 businesses damaged or looted. Dozens of fires.”
Great decision, Jacob. One (possibly two, based on other reports) police precincts gone. More than 170 businesses gone – so far. Fires everywhere. Destroyed vehicles everywhere. Incalculable destruction of property.
But, on the bright side, you’ve proven that “brick and mortar is not as important as life”. Every criminal who participated in the destruction of your city is perfectly safe.
What a guy.
Tell us, Mr. Mayor: how many more businesses are going to be destroyed before you do something other than barf out meaningless platitudes while protecting the thugs who are destroying them?
And how soon will you be blaming someone else – probably Donald Trump – for this catastrophic devastation of the city entrusted to you?
My last question is to the voters of Minneapolis: Are you happy with your mayoral choice?
Scarily enough, for a great many I’d bet the answer is a resounding “yes”.
