WHAT SERGE KOVALESKI WROTE

Ken Berwitz

On Friday, I wrote a blog titled “Donald Trump:  Thin-Skinned, Classless Barroom Loudmouth”.  In it, I excoriated Trump for his disgusting imitation of New York Times writer Serge Kovaleski\’s debilitating physical condition.

I stand by what I wrote then.

But it occurs to me that, as a matter of fairness, I should also point out the reason for Mr. Trump\’s anger at Mr. Kovaleski.

Here is what he wrote for the Washington Post, on September 18th – one week after the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

“InJersey City, within hours of two jetliners\’ plowing into the World TradeCenter, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of peoplewho were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-styleparties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of theriver.”

Now, Kovaleski says he has no memory that this ever happened – a convenient case of amnesia for someone wanting to call Trump a liar.

So while Trump\’s reaction was that of a thin-skinned, classless barroom loudmouth, let\’s understand that Kovaleski is no innocent babe in the woods either.

Let me end by reminding you, as I did in a previous blog, that I remember those celebrations too.  I remember them being reported on television.  And, in speaking to other people, including people who would never vote for for Donald Trump in a million years, they remember them too.

Which means that these news venues have archives with such reports….which they are withholding.

Why would they do this – other than a dislike of Trump, coupled with complete lack of professionalism…and integrity?
