TUCKER CARLSON & BLAKE NEFF (CONT.)

As I assume you are aware come up blake neff, a significant writer – possibly lead writer – rider for Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox News Channel, was forced to resign this weekend after CNN reported that, using a different name, he had put up a series of grotesquely sick racist comments on social media.

I have Carlson’s show on now.

I expected him to deal with the neff scandal in the first segment.  He did not. He is, at least so far, running the show as if this never happened.

I assume, therefore, that neff will be his last segment… because it is incomprehensible to me that he will not deal with it tonight.

This blog will continue after the show is over, to discuss what he said.

======================

‌The show is over.   And, near the end, Carlson made a mealy-mouth non-apology*, that was more a sympathetic look at the price poor, poor blake neff will pay as it was a criticism of his overt racism.

Carlson then informed us that he will not be on the show for the rest of the week.  He claims that this is a long-planned trout fishing vacation.  Please pardon my skepticism. The timing of this trip is too coincidental for me.

Note to Tucker Carlson: the neff scandal will not go away during the week you are “trout fishing”. It will still be there when you get back.

Plainly put, Carlson still has not addressed this scandal adequately.  Not even close.

What can he say now that would make things right?  Beats the hell out of me.

==================

*In the original blog, I stated that Carlson had not mentioned the blake neff scandal. To be entirely honest, I was switching back-and-forth, and did not see the short segment, buried just before the show’s end, in which it was (sort of) addressed.

My mistake and my apology.

  • Without posting the news report that you posted in the original blog, will you list the “grotesquely sick racist comments” he made. I have a feeling you are attributing something to him he didn’t write.

  • Ken, since you didn’t do what I asked, will you answer one last question.
    These are the comments from the cnn article.
    1. “I wouldn’t get LASIK from an Asian for free, so no.”
    2. “Black doods staying inside playing Call of Duty is probably one of the biggest factors keeping crime down.”
    3. “Honestly given how tired black people always claim to be, maybe the real crisis is their lack of sleep.”

    This last one they didn’t post a whole quote for but they give a context for it.
    the only people who care about changing the name of the NFL’s Washington Redskins are
    4. “white libs and their university-‘educated’ pets.”

    Now tell me which ones are the “grotesquely sick racist comments” in your opinion?

    • Saying that Black “doods” staying inside keeps crime down specifically targets Black “doods”, in general, as criminals.

      Similarly, generalizing about “how tired Black people always claim to be” is saying “you’ve seen one, you’ve seen ’em all’.

      And the context of that comment about Asians was (from the CNN article):

      Just this week, the writer, Blake Neff, responded to a thread started by another user in 2018 with the subject line, “Would u let a JET BLACK congo n****er do lasik eye surgery on u for 50% off?” Neff wrote, “I wouldn’t get LASIK from an Asian for free, so no.”

      To respond to that thread conversationally is inherently to treat its beyond-ugly characterization of Black people as acceptable.
