This, so help me, is former FBI Director James Comey’s reaction to current Attorney General William Barr saying he believes the Trump campaign was spied on:

“With respect to Barr’s comments, I really don’t know what he’s talking about when he talks about spying on the campaign.  It’s very concerning because the FBI, the Department of Justice conduct court-ordered electronic surveillance. I have never thought of that as spying.”

Huh?  Wha?  This is supposed to make sense?

Well, let’s see if it works in other situations”

“With respect to the prosecutor’s comments, I really don’t know what he’s talking about when he talks about me robbing that bank.  It’s very concerning because coming in with a gun, pointing it at the teller and demanding the money.  I have never thought of that as robbing.”

Uh….nah, it doesn’t really work that well.

But Comey’s answer certainly is intriguing.  Not rational, but intriguing.

-What, exactly does he call it when a FISA court is handed opposition research, told it was verified information, and then, based on that misinformation, allows involuntary surveillance to take place?

-How exactly does he think the people who lied to the FISA court about that opposition research intended for the information to be used?  What did he think trump hater, now-fired peter strzok meant when he emailed his illicit lover, lisa page about an insurance policy against the risk that he might be elected?

Either James Comey is the dumbest man in FBI history or he’s so used to getting away with lying about his actions without a public outcry (thank you, mainstream media) that he thinks this ridiculous comment will float.

Me?  I’m betting on door #2.
