Boy, this must hurt.

From Tom Hamburger and Rosalind S. Helderman’s article in today’s Washington Post:

An attorney for Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former lawyer, is backing away from confident assertions he made that Cohen has information to share with investigators that shows Trump knew in 2016 of Russian efforts to undermine Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Lanny Davis, a spokesman and attorney for Cohen, said in an interview this weekend that he is no longer certain about claims he made to reporters on background and on the record in recent weeks about what Cohen knows about Trump’s awareness of the Russian efforts.

Davis did not rule out that his claims were correct but expressed regret that he did not explain that he could not independently corroborate them, saying that he now believes he “should have been more clear.”

Uh oh.

Evidently, Lanny Davis was full of crap just didn’t explain things exactly the way he should have,  but now after everyone “knows” what he said in the first place so that’s what they’ll remember has made a sincere effort to set the record straight.

You’ll pardon my skepticism, please…

…actually, come to think of it, I don’t care whether you do or you don’t.  It stays put.

People who can’t see through this either are about as opaque as asbestos, or just hates Trump so much that it doesn’t matter; they intend to go with Lanny Davis’s first version regardless of his belated, half-baked “revision”.

Well, look at the bright side:  at least the Washington Post wrote about it.  Most mainstream media continue to leave their readers/viewers/listeners in the dark about this reality.

And, gee, The Post published its article only four days after Jonathan Swan of reported that Cohen specifically told congress he didn’t know about the meeting and two days after Davis did his reverse-field routine (The Post interviewed him on Saturday).

In other words, they let it “cook” in people’s minds all that time before letting them in on the truth.

Then they, and their mainstream media counterparts, wonder why fewer and fewer people trust them?

UPDATE:  But wait.  There’s more.

From Chuck Ross’s article at

CNN reported July 27 that sources close to Cohen said he was present at a meeting where Donald Trump Jr. told his father about the Trump Tower meeting. Trump critics seized on the report, noting that Trump and Trump Jr. have both denied that the president knew about the meeting until it was reported in the press in July 2017.

But Davis said Wednesday night that the reporting of the story got “mixed up” and that Cohen does not know whether Trump had prior knowledge of the meeting.

“So Michael Cohen does not have information that President Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians beforehand or even after?” CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Davis.

“No, he does not,” Davis said.

In other words, the Washington Post, and the rest of media, have known about this Lanny Davis u-turn for the better part of a week.

That should tell you everything you need to know about mainstream media trustworthiness.

  • I ran across an interesting article, thought I would share it with you.

How it Feels When YouTube Disappears Your Video

Or possibly as a result of nothing at all except the increasing need on the part of the Internet giants to avoid the mistakes they think they made in 2016 that resulted in the unexpected victory of Donald J. Trump, whom all of them opposed in his run against Hillary Clinton. Mistakes including allowing conservatives to have a fair shot at communicating their messages unfiltered with the American people.

    • Found another one.

Those who deem themselves so much smarter than the rest of us — John Brennan, who falsely denied any CIA spying on Senate Intelligence Committee staff, and James Clapper who lied under oath to Congress — in a properly functioning democratic republic would end up in prison. James Comey, Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Rod Rosenstein, Glenn Simpson, James Mueller and his cast of Democrat partisan prosecutors (and we can’t even imagine how many more) in their oh-so altruistic effort to protect us from ourselves have shredded the Constitution that so many of us still believe in.

The media and deep state cabal want you to believe their war is againstDonald Trump. Don’t believe this for a minute. They do indeed hate Mr. Trump for taking what they feel only they are entitled to, but he is merely a passing phenomenon. If they succeed in their criminal effort to take down the president, the jig will be up and the country will be in the hands of its permanent government, with elections just the window dressing.
