William Taylor, distinguished career diplomat and, currently, acting Ambassador to the Ukraine, was the man!
Ambassador Taylor was the guy who, during October 22 testimony( behind closed doors of course – that’s how adam schiff likes to operate) – was, according to leaked information from the schiff hearing, supposed to have pulled the scab off President Trump’s quid pro quo threat to Ukraine.
Mr. Taylor’s diplomatic credentials, his honesty and credibility, were supposed to take Trump down.
A great many in mainstream media – certainly among the major news networks – could hardly contain their glee. Bye Bye Donald.
…Ambassador Taylor maintained his honesty and credibility – which, to the chagrin of adam schiff, his Democrat pals and their complicit media, blew their BS impeachment farce right down the toilet.
Want proof? Ok, no problem.
Here is the key exchange between Ambassador Taylor and Majority (i.e. Democrat) Counsel Daniel Goldman. The bold print is mine:
DANIEL GOLDMAN: Now, during this early period in September, we talked a little bit about the fact that you continually heard that the president was repeatedly saying that there was no quid pro quo. Is that right?
WILLIAM TAYLOR: That’s correct.
GOLDMAN: And he–he still says that repeatedly today, but regardless of what you call it, whether it’s a quid pro quo, bribery, extortion, abuse of power of the office of the presidency, the fact of the matter as you understood it is that security assistance and the White House meeting were not going to be provided unless Ukraine initiated these two investigations that would benefit Donald Trump’s reelection. Is that what you understood the facts to be?
TAYLOR: Mr. Goldman, what–what I can do here for you today is tell you what I heard from people and in this case it was what I heard from Ambassador Sondland. He described the conditions for the security assistance and the White House meeting in–in those terms. That is they depended upon, conditioned on pursuing these investigations.
Got that? Goldman directly asks if Taylor’s understanding was that President Trump committed potentially impeachable offenses. And Taylor’s response was, that’s what he heard from someone else.
In other words, Taylor had no first-hand knowledge of this ever happening.
“So”, you might ask, “if Taylor readily admits he doesn’t know a thing other than what someone else told him, why in the world was he asked to testify? He brings nothing to the inquiry.”
If so, helluva good question. That’s what I’m asking too. And that’s what everyone else should be asking as well.
The one thing schiff and his pals managed to do was to make this impeachment inquiry even more farcical than it already was. That, folks, is no small accomplishment.
