THE REAL POLLUTION CULPRITS (THE ONES DEMOCRATS, AND MEDIA, IGNORE)

I don’t know much about Summit News.  So I cannot vouch for its article by John Paul Watson, which quotes Germany’s Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research

But I do know something about the Helmholtz Centre:  it has been researching environmental issues for almost 30 years and is mostly funded by the German Government.  So if it provides environmental information, I’m interested.

Well, here, from Mr. Watson’s article, is the Helmholtz Centre’s information on which countries are most culpable in polluting our environment:

…researchers at Germany’s Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research discovered that a small number of rivers account for the vast majority of plastic pollution and none of them are located in western countries.

“The 10 top-ranked rivers transport 88-95 percent of the global load into the sea,” Dr. Christian Schmidt, a hydrogeologist who led the study, told the Daily Mail. “The rivers with the highest estimated plastic loads are characterized by high population – for instance the Yangtze with over half a billion people.”

Out of the top ten rivers that produce the most pollution, eight are in Asia and two are in Africa. The Yangtze River in China and the Ganges River in India were responsible for the most plastic pollution.

I have a few questions for the so-called environmentalists in the United States – the ones that demand, for example, that we give up plastic straws:

When was the last time they demanded that China or India stop their massive pollution of the earth’s environment?

And specifically for the so-called environmentalists who attacked President Trump for dropping out of the (non-binding) Paris Climate Accords:  When was the last time they demanded that those accords include China and India – since the agreement gave both countries a 100% complete free pass on pollution until the year 2030?

Two more questions:  Since the answers to both of the first two are “rarely if ever”, why should we place any credibility on your commitment to the environment?  Why shouldn’t we assume that what’s really driving your agenda is hate-America-first politics rather than saving the planet?

Just asking……
