Today’s quote comes to us from someone who promises to be an especially rich source of material for this series: soon-to-be congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
As you are no doubt aware, Democrats regained the House of Representatives, by winning almost 40 new seats.
As, I would hope, you are also aware, it is hardly unusual for the opposition party to win seats in mid-term elections – and, often, by a lot more than 40.
But, apparently, this would be news to Ms Ocasio-Cortez, as demonstrated by this assessment, voiced earlier today, of the election results:
“We’ve done what we thought was impossible. We went to the moon. We electrified the nation. We established civil rights. We enfranchised the country. We dug deep and we did it. We did it, when no one else thought that we could. That’s what we did when so many of us won an election this year. That’s what so many of us did.”
The entirely predictable result of Democrats increasing their number of House seats during this year’s mid-term elections is equivalent to landing on the moon, launching the civil rights movement and establishing democracy??????
I award Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Quote Of The Day “honors” for accomplishing the almost impossible task of making me think she is an even bigger idiot than I already thought she was.
And all this before she even takes her seat in Congress.
What an amazing two years we are in for.
