Today’s quote comes to us from Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, who leads a congregation at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Rabbi Myers made the mistake of saying he would be honored to meet the President of the United States – one who has been a tremendous friend of Israel’s and who has a Jewish daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. And here’s what happened:
“When I first said that the president was welcome, I’ve received a lot of emails, too numerous to count, I’ve received many that are not happy with those words. Those emails also contain hate. It just continues in this vicious cycle. We need to be better than this. We can be better than this.”
This, let’s understand, is from the people who claim to be against hate. The people our media elevate as superior to those mouth-breathing neanderthals who are too ignorant to realize that President Trump is an idiot, a white supremacist, a nazi sympathizer and hates all Mexicans.
In other words, if you don’t unconditionally accept their evaluation – most of which is utter BS, with the nazi-sympathizer claim insane altogether – you have earned exactly the hate they claim to be against.
I award Rabbi Myers Quote Of The Day honors for being brave enough to say that it would be an honor to meet with President Trump…
…and my absolute disgust for the people whose own hatred causes a Rabbi’s meeting with as pro-Jewish and pro-Israel a president as this country has ever had to be an act of bravery.
