THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from United States Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley.

Ms. Haley, swimming valiantly upstream against the UN’s pathological hatred of Israel, has tried to talk sense about Israel’s defense of its own borders over the past week.  Lots of luck on that.

To review:   Palestinian Arabs, for months, have been massing at the Israeli border, tossing rocks, flying kites with explosives over the border to detonate there, burning tires to create cover for their activities.

And why are they doing this?

Anyone with even passing familiarity with the hamas charter knows the answer, because it is spelled out in clear, impossible-to-misunderstand words…which means that the UN knows its motives and does not care (more on this further on).

So how did Ambassador Haley address this issue during a session of the General Assembly?

This way:

“Who else would accept this type of activity on your border?

“Those who suggest the violence has anything to do with the U.S. location of the embassy are sorely mistaken.

“Hamas maps and social media show the fastest routes to reach Israeli communities in case demonstrators make it through the security fence.  They have reported on Hamas messages over loudspeakers that urge demonstrators to burst through the fence, falsely claiming Israeli soldiers were fleeing, when in fact, they were not.”

Is that true?  has hamas lied to a bunch of poor, indoctrinated saps by convincing them to breach the Israeli border on the false premise that Israeli soldiers are running away, thus present no problem?

I have not seen facts to support or dispute this claim.  But I do know that hamas has always been very happy to use its people as human shields in an effort to run up a death total, which Israel is then blamed for.

You don’t launch rockets from schools and residential neighborhoods without intending to run up a body count when Israel retaliates.  You don’t send children, and people in wheelchairs, to a border where you are intentionally inciting armed troops without expecting that they will be unharmed when the incitement works.

I award Nikki Haley Quote Of The Day honors for her reminder of what Israel deals with when they deal with hamas.  I also sympathize with her on the fact that this effort is wasted on the UN.

Now, as promised earlier, I will show you the passages in the hamas charter referenced above.  Please note that these are not my interpretations of what the charter says – as you can see by clicking here and reading the entire document (which I beg you to do);  these are its actual words:

Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).  -Second paragraph of charter

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews(killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem) – End of Article 7

Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.  – Article 8 in its entirety

-The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it,or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that.Palestine is an Islamic Waqf land consecrated for Moslem generations until Judgement Day. – Beginning of Article 11

-Initiatives,and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that. For the sake of hoisting the banner of Allah over their homeland they fight.”Allah will be prominent, but most people do not know.”

Now and then the call goes out for the convening of an international conference to look for ways of solving the (Palestinian) question. Some accept, others reject the idea, for this or other reason, with one stipulation or more for consent to convening the conference and participating in it. Knowing the parties constituting the conference, their past and present attitudes towards Moslem problems, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not consider these conferences capable of realising the demands, restoring the rights or doing justice to the oppressed. These conferences are only ways of setting the infidels in the land of the Moslems as arbitraters. When did the infidels do justice to the believers? – Beginning of Article 13

Any questions?

One final thing;  powerlineblog.com’s Paul Mirengoff has an excellent analysis of what is going on at the Israeli/Gaza border and how it is being politicized.  I suggest you click here and read it.
