THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from actress Amber Tamblyn, and was made during an interview with Hanna Smothers, for Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Who is to blame for the Hollywood sexual mess?  You know, that thingie with Harvey Weinstein, James Toback, Keven Spacey, those folks?

Well, here is Ms. Tamblyn’s answer:

“Honestly, I trace everything back to the election of Donald Trump. I think that without him being elected, if it had been Hillary Clinton, this would’ve never happened to Harvey Weinstein. I feel like the election of Donald Trump was a singular pointed message at women telling us that our lives don’t matter, and that our safety doesn’t matter, and that our physical health doesn’t matter, our reproductive rights don’t matter, that our gender just doesn’t matter, and that we are somehow owned by the country. I think within that one move, it was a giant gesture, and Donald Trump symbolizes, for most women – not all of them – he symbolizes and epitomizes everything that is deeply wrong with masculinity and with the objectification of women. And so within that single vote, it sort of was like a switch was flipped on and every woman just went, I’m done. It’s as simple as that: I’m done.”

Are you as confused as I am?

In the world of Amber Tamblynia:

-Is Donald Trump a heroic figure whose off-the-cuff remarks from 12 years ago raised women’s anger and awareness to the point that they are now coming forward and exposing what a sexual cesspool Hollywood is?

-Or is Donald Trump a scumbucket whose off-the-cuff remarks, 12 years ago, opened a pandora’s box that should have been left closed?

I award Amber Tamblyn Quote Of The Day “honors” for neither of these two possibilities.  I she wins for saying that that without him being elected, “if it had been Hillary Clinton, this would’ve never happened to Harvey Weinstein.”

Happened TO Harvey Weinstein, Amber?  He’s the VICTIM?  And he would still be tall in the saddle (any female saddle he wanted, evidently) if only Hillary were elected.

Stupidity, ignorance and obtuseness of that level must be recognized.  Even if if it requires putting “honors” in quotation marks to show how saracstic the reference is.
