Today’s quote comes to us from Itzi Robles, a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) “dreamer” who is not content the idea that she might be made legal.
Says Ms. Robles:
“The fight is not over and it is never going to be over until our parents are legal as well and until we fix this broken immigration system,”
DACA, at least on paper, exists because the “children” involved (many of whom are in their 30’s, in case you’re picturing little boys and girls) are illegal through no fault of their own.
But the demand that their parents – the ones who proactively came here as illegals – be made legal too is a very different story.
And if you doubt for a minute that Ms. Robles’ demand is not shared by many others, including many Democrats who, correctly, assume they can get votes from these people – whether they become legal or not (that’s my opinion, anyway) – are not on board, you better rethink.
Itzi Robles wins Quote Of The Day honors for being honest enough to talk about the true ultimate goals of DACA.
I hope everyone of us is listening.
