THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from author, former Obama adviser and currently CNN regular, Van Jones.

Mr. Jones, as hard-left as they come (at one point he self-described himself as a communist), was on Erin Burnett’s CNN show Friday, and had this to say about Hillary Clinton’s “Russian tool” accusation against Democrat presidential candidate, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI):

“She is Hillary Clinton. She’s a legend. She’s going to be in the history books and she’s a former nominee of our party and she just came out against a sitting U.S. congresswoman, a decorated war veteran and someone running for the nomination of our party with a complete smear and no facts.   A sitting U.S. congresswoman.

“Now…this is a very, very dangerous game, and there is a back story and there are two sides to every story. Let’s not forget, Tulsi Gabbard was picked out by the Democratic Party and put at the top of the DNC. They thought she was going to be their golden girl.

“And she got that position and she looked around and saw Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other people, Clinton allies, doing stuff they shouldn’t be doing in the primary and Tulsi publicly quit and endorsed Bernie Sanders, and it’s been payback hell ever since.”

Aha.

So Mr. Jones’ view is that Hillary Clinton’s purpose in her attack on Rep. Gabbard is that she is still holding a grudge from the 2016 election.

What an outrage!  What possible reason would anyone have to think Hillary Clinton is still whining about the 2016 elec……uh, never mind.

Ms. Clinton could, of course, have dealt with Ms. Gabbard face-to-face at Fortune Magazine’s Powerful Women Summit next week (where she was billed as a featured speaker).  But, after Gabbard made it clear that she was angry about Clinton’s smear and would let her have it….Clinton abruptly canceled, citing a “scheduling conflict”.

Evidently, Ms. Clinton finds that it is much easier to toss insults when the object of those insults is not available to confront her and answer back.

So, with apologies to Peter, Paul and Mary… Hill, that not-so-mighty insulter, sadly slipped into to her Chappaqua digs.

I award Van Jones Quote Of The Day honors for explaining in a clear, credible way why Hillary Clinton said what she did….with an honorable mention to Tusli Gabbard for showing Clinton up as a coward who doesn’t have the courage to face the woman she defamed.
