Today’s quote comes to us from Dean Baquet, Executive Editor of The New York Times.
First let me show what Mr. Baquet said. Then I’ll tell you what it refers to:
“We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well. Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story.”
Interesting quote, wouldn’t you say?
But if you think the quote is interesting, wait until you find out what it refers to.
Baquet is explaining why The Times has moved away from its coverage of collusion between the Trump administration and Russia, to Trump’s alleged racism.
You can read all about it here.
See, since the Mueller report said no collusion took place, that isn’t working out. So now? On to the racist angle.
Gee, just like the Democrat Party has moved. Helluva coincidence.
I award Dean Baquet Quote Of The Day honors, for so beautifully defining The New York Times’ commitment to, er, neutral coverage of the Trump administration.
Don’t expect it to waver even one little bit until a Democrat – any Democrat – again occupies the Oval Office.
