Suppose you are Portland Mayor ted wheeler.

You have done exactly nothing to stop, or even discourage, the left wing lunatics who have, over the last month and a half, turned your city into an Anarchyland, with the rule of law nowhere to be found.

Well, someone has to be blamed for this.  And, despite your utter uselessness against – even tacit support for – the people you have allowed to take the city over, you don’t want that blame to fall on you.

So, who to blame, who to blame?

Why, President Trump of course.

Trump, whose Portland-related activity was to send federal agents in to (successfully) defend Portland’s federal courthouse is the culprit.

And because he sent them in, Portland’s month and a half long descent into a level of social chaos you’d expect to find in Syria or Afghanistan is his fault.  Not the rioters/anarchists, not the useless antifa-friendly Mayor, not his rubber-stamp far left City Council, but Trump. He’s the one orchestrating this disaster.  How dare he!

From Victoria Taft’s article at (complete with lots of pictures – so use the link to read the entire story and see them all):

For 46 nights, downtown Portland has been the scene out of a post-apocalyptic graphic novel with shadowy black-clad, tattooed antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters taking hammers and skateboards to bash-in the windows of banks, public buildings, and the heads of federal officers. But now the Portland mayor says the riots are President Trump’s fault.

Mayor Ted Wheeler
The President did not quell it, he escalated it. His heavy-handed tactics led to a serious injury and enflamed an already tense situation.

To the people of Portland:  I have no sympathy for you.  You elected wheeler and you elected the one-note City Council.  Their performance is due to your voting choices.  And that performance includes the allowing of anarchists to run your city for all this time – and for the forseeable future as well.

Now you have to live with what you brought on yourselves.  I hope you’re enjoying it.
