Another day, another complete blackout on the condition of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and whether there is any likelihood she will return to the bench.
Here, in its entirety, is the blog I wrote about Ms. Ginsburg on January 16th:
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has just canceled a January 29th appearance at the Skirball center in Los Angeles.
That is two weeks from now, and on the heels of Justice Ginsburg not showing up for oral arguments at the Supreme Court for the last week and a half.
In my previous “Ginsburg Watch” post, I mentioned that it would not surprise me if she has seen her last day on the Supreme Court. This does nothing to change my expectations.
But her spokespeople keep telling us that’s she is well on her way to recovery – even as the days and weeks she was supposed to have returned to work but did not, continue to grow.
Do they actually think anybody believes them?
As you can see, I was extremely pessimistic about the prospect of Justice Ginsburg’ ever returning.
Now, as mainstream media clearly are burying any news of Ms. Ginsburg’s condition, I am even more pessimistic than before…
…as is my disgust with the obvious fact that news about her condition is being withheld from us.
If we were talking about someone not in the spotlight, this would be no one’s business but family and friends.
But that is not the case. This is a Justice of the Supreme Court, whose absence makes the court incomplete and who, if unable to continue in that capacity, must be replaced.
Is there anyone left in media willing to demand answers here?
Or is the fear of Donald Trump picking Ms. Ginsburg’s successor so distasteful, so terrifying to our so-called “neutral” media that they don’t want to face those answers?
