A quick summary of the Gubernatorial situation in Virginia:
-Governor: Democrat ralph northam.
northam, who supports infanticide (which should have been enough to remove him right there) still has that yearbook picture of one male in blackface and the other in a klan outfit hanging over him. He claims neither of the two his him. Personally, I don’t think it matters. Even if he’s telling the truth (very doubtful) he still proactively put that picture up in his yearbook page as if it were perfectly acceptable.
So far, northam has not resigned.
-1st in line of succession: Democrat Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax.
Fairfax stands accused of forcing a sexual act on an unwilling woman in 2004. The woman, Vanessa Tyson, is now a Professor as Scripps University in California. She claims that she told others about the attack last year, when gubernatorial succession was not an issue. And NBC is reporting that, on Monday, Fairfax’s reaction to Professor Tyson was “Fuck that bitch”.
As of today the National Organization of Women (NOW) is demanding that he resign.
So far he has not done so.
-2nd in line of succession: Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring.
Herring also put himself in blackface many years ago. Unlike Governor northam, he admits doing so. Herring has now offered to step down as one of the co-chairs of the Democratic Attorneys General Association.
So far he has not resigned.
-3rd in line of succession: Republican speaker of the House of Delegates, Kirk Cox.
So far nothing damning about Cox. But tomorrow is always another day.
What a wonderful time for Virginia politics – especially among Democrats.
Stay tuned. If ever a situation is not going to remain static, this is the one. Something has got to give – probably more than one something – and soon.
