THE COMEY COME-UPPANCE: PART 1

Former FBI Director James Comey just went through stage one of his come-uppance.  And he is either too full of himself to realize as much or so arrogant that he thinks a little nonsensical bravado will convince the public that it isn’t happening.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s first report (more to come) details violation after violation of FBI guidelines.

Horowitz’s sums up Comey’s behavior this way:

“By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees”

The report so clearly takes down Comey that even CNN – which hates Trump’s guts, has been more than sympathetic to Comey for the past two and a half years, and is trying its best to put some kind of positive spin on his actions, starts its report with this:

Former FBI Director James Comey violated agency policies when he retained and leaked a set of memos he took documenting meetings with President Donald Trump early in 2017, the Justice Department’s inspector general said in a report released Thursday.

Comey set a “dangerous example” for FBI employees in an attempt to “achieve a personally desired outcome,” the report states.

You might think that, in the face of such condemnation there might be at least some level of contrition on Comey’s part. If so, you don’t know James Comey very well  Here is what he tweeted after the report came out:

DOJ IG “found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media.” I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a “sorry we lied about you” would be nice.

A 70 page spanking, and Comey extracts one piece where Horowitz found no evidence to inform us that, instead of a serial scumbag, he’s an aggrieved party.

Yeah, right.

And here’s the topper:  this report is only a preliminary to what is coming.  Horowitz has yet to release his report on the FISA warrants that Comey signed – in which he swore the information they contained was verified.

Those warrants were based on the Steele dossier – which not only was not verified but Steele himself admitted he could not stand behind.

And, since Comey was specifically warned that the dossier was unverified opposition research, it means he is a liar who signed the warrants knowing damn well this would put them before the FISA court on a demonstrably false pretense.

I can’t wait to see his tweet when that report is issued.

Let me end with another in my series of compliments to  Sean Hannity, John Solomon, Sara Carter and Gregg Jarrett.  They have been on this story from day one – even as almost all other media did everything they could to suppress this information.  And, so far – right up to this first Horowitz report on Comey – they have been spot-on accurate.

Conservatives talk show personalities and columnists who show any respect for them are not about to get Pulitzer Prizes.  Not in this day and age.  But these four have more than earned them.

Now, as subsequent reports come out (Horowitz is not the only one – don’t forget John Durham’s investigation of the FBI’s behavior during the 2016 presidential campaign)…

… let’s watch the rest of media try to play catch-up ball and explain why they ignored the damning evidence that was just as available to them as it was to Hannity, Solomon, Carter and Jarrett.
