Who wouldda thunk it?

If Sheri Urban’s article at is accurate – and it looks to be – now we have the spectacle of Democrats joining Republicans and – albeit from a very, very different perspective – going after the mueller “investigation”

Democrats in Congress, faced with a damning, bi-partisan Senate report, and stunning statements from President Trump’s former lawyer, are starting to panic that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will “reveal nothing.”

So now Democrats are actually lashing out at their once-savior Mueller, worried that his investigation is “too limited” and won’t satisfy their dreams of bringing down Trump.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) kicked off a torrent of criticism on Wednesday, according to the Washington Examinerquestioning whether “Mueller has adequately investigated President Trump’s financial dealings with a German bank,” and suggesting that Mueller’s investigation could be so “woefully incomplete” that the House has no choice but to resume investigating the president themselves.

That is shocking criticism against a Special Counsel they have portrayed as a hero for the past two years.

“If the special counsel hasn’t subpoenaed Deutsche Bank, he can’t be doing much of a money laundering investigation,” Schiff said. “So that’s what concerns me, that that red line has been enforced, whether by the deputy attorney general or by some other party at the Justice Department. But that leaves the country exposed. That is totally unacceptable to us.”

Schiff is referring to an alleged incident that occured late last year, reported in The New York Times. The Times reported that President Trump was ready to fire Mueller, until he was reassured that the Special Counsel had not, in fact, subpoenaed the Trump Corporation’s financial records from Deutche Bank.

The report was never substantiated and relied on anonymous sources within the Justice Department, but Schiff seems to believe the report is proof that Mueller caved to the president’s demands, rendering his entire investigation incomplete.

Amazing, isn’t it, how wonderful robert mueller was….until it became apparent that his two year wild goose chase in search of a crime (aren’t Independent Counsels supposed to investigate only when there is a crime?) was coming up dry.

So now the party line is “No, no no, this can’t be.  Since Trump must be guilty of lots of stuff, mueller must either be an incompetent or he has been convinced to go soft on Trump.”

A quick reminder:  mueller is a close friend of Trump’s blood enemy, james comey, and he filled his staff with nothing but Democrats – not one Republican among them – including several who specifically donated money to Hillary Clinton.

Most sane people would conclude that, if an investigation this completely stacked against Donald Trump doesn’t come up with anything substantial to pin on him, it probably isn’t there.

But we’re talking Adam Schiff here – who has turned political buffoonery into an art form.  So, somehow, that doesn’t apply.

In any event, that seems to be where things stand now.

More to come, for sure……..
