Several days ago, I blogged about the widely circulated story that Colton Haab, a student at Parkland High School, was handed a scripted question to ask at the CNN “town hall” meeting. Assuming the story was true, I excoriated CNN for doing so.
It turns out that the story is not true. We now find out that the Haab family altered a couple of emails to make it seem as though CNN was scripting his question, but it wasn’t so.
There is a lot to dislike about CNN, a lot to attack it for regarding Parkland, a lot of reasons to find Haab’s story credible. But facts are facts. It was not..
I regret taking Haab’s word for what happened at face value, and apologize to CNN for doing so.
