THE CNN CHYRONS

CNN expects that we take it seriously as a neutral news source.

Why?

As you may be aware, a chyron (KY-ron) is the space at the bottom of a cable news screen, with information to “flesh out” what you are watching.

Today, as we continue to wait for information regarding which individual or group sent the series of “it’s not going to blow up or anything but it looks like it could” bombs, this is a sampling of the chyrons CNN put up on during the day (which I pulled from Scott Whitlock’s article at newsbusters.org):

“CNN: Trump Has No Plans to Claim Any Personal Responsibility for Inciting Serial Bomber.”

“Manhunt for Serial Bomber Going After Trump’s Targets.”

“FBI on Suspicious Packages Sent to Trump’s Critics.”

Let me remind you again that, other than the person/people who sent those bombs, no one currently knows who sent them or what the motivation was.

But CNN made good and damn sure to tell its audience – what there is left of it – that President Trump was specifically responsible for them, and they were sent on his behalf.  No facts of any kind to back it up, but there were those chyrons anyway.

I’ll end this blog the way I started it.

CNN expects that we take it seriously as a neutral news source.
